Roll up, roll up – it’s Showtime

- BY ROS BURTON PRINCIPAL – THE REAL ESTATE PEOPLE

How good are Dagwood Dogs? No need to answer that – they are awesome (albeit pure evil for principals in the real estate industry looking to watch their figure).

Nonetheless, I’m going to be unashamedly indulging later this month when the Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show kicks off – running from Thursday, March 26 to Saturday, March 28.

I can’t wait.

Ever since I was young one, I’ve loved the Show – the colour, the spectacle, the sights and sounds all bring back wonderful memories. But, I’ll be wearing a different hat when I visit this year.

I’ll be joining my colleagues from The Real Estate People to man a stall in the Founders Pavilion over the three days.

We think it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet show-goers (local and visiting) and introduce ourselves.

It’s a chance to discuss the current real estate climate and hear where the community thinks we are tracking in the region.

It will be revealing to learn whether recordlow interest rates are enough for people to now buy property with confidence or is uncertainty in the job market still making potential buyers reluctant to make the jump? It’ll be great to hear the different views and motivations that influence our local house and investment purchases.

In the real estate industry, we obviously have our own ideas and predictions of where the market is heading (based on many years’ experience), but it’s vitally important to gauge public opinion and see what the factors driving sentiment are.

If you’re coming to the Show, be sure to stop by The Real Estate People display and say hi.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on where you think the industry is going in 2020.

Maybe we can even share a Dagwood Dog (it’ll be our secret).
