THE CHRONICLE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COMPETITION

A CHRISTMAS LIGHTS MAP WILL BE IN THE CHRONICLE ON DECEMBER 16

-

With the holiday season just around the corner, people are starting to adorn their homes with beautiful Christmas lights.

If you’re particularly fond of this, why not get involved in The Chronicle Christmas Lights Competition?

Sponsored by Toowoomba Betta Home Living, there is a people’s choice competition where the public is encouraged to go out and vote for their favourite light display.

These displays go in the draw to win a prize.

On December 16, there will be a double-page spread in The Chronicle with a map and a list of the winners.

The Chronicle Toowoomba Christmas Lights 2017 Competition co-ordinator, Stacey Hixon, loves this time of year.

“As the co-ordinator of the Christmas Lights Competition I am lucky to be able to go around and judge all the amazing Christmas light displays,” Stacey says.

“Judging starts on December 1 and runs through to December 8, so if you want to get involved but didn’t enter a display yourself, you can vote in the Readers’ Choice competition.

“All you need to do is simply complete the Readers’ Choice Voting Coupon found in The Chronicle from December 1 to 10, complete the details of your choice for best display and get it into The Chronicle office by 4pm on Tuesday, December 12.

“Your vote puts you in the draw for a chance to win a $250 gift voucher.

“The Christmas lights map will appear in The Chronicle on Saturday, December 16, and in the Christmas Carols Guide, so don’t forget to grab a copy to find out who has the best decorated lights in town.”

Entrants are required to have their lights on between December 1 and 24, from 6.30 to 9.30pm.

Last year, Geoff and Debbie Morris of Highfields won Best Decorated Home, John Gamble won the Spirit of Christmas, and Lucinda Paynter won the Best Neighbourhood award.

You can book to go on a lights tour through eventbrite.com.au.
