For Parklust organiser Aleea Moodie, the health and wellbeing day started last year as an opportunity to get together with friends in the wellness industry for a day of fun in the park. It was a huge success. “Once word got around, it really was a lot bigger than anyone expected,” Aleea says.

This year, the dedicated yogi and hula hoop enthusiast will team with the Queens Park Markets to bring more lust for all things healthy and happy with a focus on community, fitness and wellbeing.

Throughout the day, instructors will offer a variety of free fitness classes including tai chi with the team from the Chinese Martial Arts Centre, yoga and hula hooping by Yoga Bhava, boxing with Mick Shaw and pound fit with Sherrie Erdmann.

Local clubs will be involved in the day with World Gym and Slamfit offering workshops.

Market stalls for health and wellbeing products and services will also be available including passionate planters, healing energy space and a didgeridoo workshop with Ulidi Dreaming.

“There will be all the usual healthy food, art, coffee, Sea Shepherd, plus Jen Shaw’s Emerge Food Van selling healthy treats and offering cooking classes,” Aleea says.

“It’s a great day in the park, where the community can come together for some free fitness, to learn something new, eat food and have fun.”

Proceeds from raffles and money boards on the day will go to the Toowoomba Youth Emerge Program.

“The program is all about the health and wellbeing of our teens and keeping them off the streets, giving them a safe place to go and hang.”
