GREAT WINTER READ
THE NAME OF THE WIND BY PATRICK ROTHFUSS TENTH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL EDITION A beautiful hard-cover with a new author’s note is the ideal celebration for this previously little-known story.
According to Rothfuss’ author note, the book took many years and reworks to get to publication – and the result for the reader is worth the wait.
The tale is introduced somewhat uniquely, as rather than jumping straight into the story, the reader is introduced to a tavern-owner with a secretive past.
Several chapters in, this man – known to locals as Kote – meets a scribe who convinces Kote to share his story.
It is revealed that Kote is actually somewhat of a legend in his own right, and it is here that The Name of the Wind changes from third-person prose to a first-person account from Kote – better known as Kvothe Kingkiller.
Full of magic, action, mystery, and excellent writing, this book is a must-read.
