Style NOTE

-

Even though Toowoomba has cooled down, the community and social scene is heating up — in a big way.

The Darling Downs is super busy over May, and we have so much to share with you in this edition.

Get behind the Mother’s Day Classic and go pink for breast cancer (p15), and gather up your loved ones to enjoy another wonderful year of the Hampton Festival (p16).

We’ve been super lucky to chat to local lady, Jen Shaw, who is mentoring Toowoomba’s next generation through her youth organisation, Emerge. Jen shares her inspiring story with us on pages 8 and 9. We meet local band Shark Drive (p17), and local stylist Felicity Wright gives us fashion tips for travel (p21).

This month we are thrilled to be supporting the Stepping Out Winter Glamour Runway, a spectacular fashion event that is raising vital funds for St Andrew’s oncology department.

Check out everything you have to look forward to across our delightful four-page spread starting on p24. Lauren Hope talks about the different ages of travelling (p30). Make sure you read the latest review for local restaurant Qi’lin — you will want to book a table straight after you’ve finished (p53).

Get prepared for the social calendar for May with our packed What’s On (p60).

We hope you enjoy this edition of Style.

Our best,

The Style team
