I don’t know about you, but I love the cooler weather.

In saying this, even the biggest winter fan starts googling “best tropical holidays” towards the end of the season.

So if you have a holiday booked for a sunny paradise somewhere in the next few months make it even better by packing smartly — this keeps things simple and allows for more room to shop.

Here are five items to help take you from the beach to the cocktail bar without blowing all of your spending money on excess luggage.

● A blazer – throw it over shorts and a tee, swap out your sandals for wedges and you are good to go from the beach to the bar.

● A bold lipstick – holidays are a time to relax and you want to keep things low maintenance, however every now and then you want to kick it up a gear. The easiest way to do this is with a bold statement lipstick … instant glam.

● A wedge heel – a great way to turn an outfit into more smart casual and a little less flip flop. This style heel is also a great option for a beach holiday as it will be easier to walk on grass and sand.

● Chunky accessories – Nothing transforms a simple outfit like bold accessories. Stacked up bracelets, large colourful earrings or a statement necklace.

● Colourful prints – Not really a fan of the above suggestions? Then let your clothes do all the work for you. Colourful prints, no matter how simple the cut of clothing will always add serious style factor.
