Happy November. What a month it’s been since the last edition of Style. The team has been out and about within the Toowoomba community, supporting events such as the Garden City’s first Diner En Blanc. You can see who was there on page 66. We also enjoyed Toowoomba Philharmonic Society’s latest production, Shrek the Musical, and attended the Unleash the Beast event for Mental Health Awareness Day. Seeing so many people come together to learn about mental health and start removing the taboo surrounding it, was inspiring. Also inspiring are the young men behind local handyman business Jobs by Jacobs. You can read their story on page 10. This month is set to be just as busy as the last, with the “race that stops the nation” just around the corner. Plan your Melbourne Cup Day on pages 16 and 64. November is also home, of course, to Remembrance Day. This year the Queensland Music Festival has paired with the Queensland Government to bring Toowoomba (and Cairns) a free concert to commemorate the day. Style magazine spoke to some of the people making this concert happen – you can read the story on page 36.
