JIÀHN ART FOTOGRAFIE
The Style team had a chat with photographic artist, Jiàhn Charlotte. This is what she had to say:
ABOUT HERSELF AND HER ART:
I can’t play an instrument, hold a note, or draw to save my life, but I’ve always had a love of imagery, which turned into a real interest about seven years ago when I bought my first DSLR.
My journey began while taking photos of local musicians, and my work has since been featured in publications across the USA, Canada, Norway, Germany, and the UK.
I am drawn to to anything outside the norm, with mood being the most important element to me.
ABOUT THIS HIGHFIELDS PHOTOSHOOT:
It was an excuse for some creative play.
The make-up was loosely inspired by the band KISS, replacing the harshness of the black and white make-up with metallic gold.
We worked with two diverse looks — one, a delicate boho feel, and the other with a harsh cyber-punk edge.
ABOUT HER UPCOMING EXHIBITION:
It’s a scary thing, putting yourself out there.
Being invited to showcase my work with the international RAW Artists group and nominated for a RAW photographer of the year in 2014, broke the ice.
My exhibition will showcase my sevenyear journey in photography across various genres I have explored.
