WHERE: Frogs Hol­low in Queens Park, cnr Hume and Mar­garet sts, Toowoomba City

WHAT: This will be a very spe­cial twi­light shop­ping event re­flect­ing an in­ner city ‘eat street’ vibe. Do your Christ­mas shop­ping at dusk, then stay on for a re­laxed din­ner. Bring your pic­nic blan­ket and in­dulge in a smor­gas­bord of de­li­cious cuisines while lis­ten­ing to lo­cal mu­si­cians. The de­signer mar­ket al­ley will fea­ture qual­ity bou­tique, hand­made and ar­ti­san prod­ucts. En­try is $2.

PEACEHAVEN CHRIST­MAS CAR­OLS

WHEN: Satur­day, De­cem­ber 8, from 5pm

WHERE: Peacehaven Park, 58 Kuhls Rd, High­fields

WHAT: Or­gan­ised by the com­bined churches of High­fields, and sup­ported by Toowoomba Re­gional Coun­cil, the pro­gram in­cludes a mix­ture of tra­di­tional and mod­ern car­ols and a visit by Santa who will be col­lect­ing your do­nated toys for un­der-priv­i­leged chil­dren in the re­gion. The bar­be­cue will be fired up and food and drinks will be avail­able for pur­chase. Round­ing off the evening will be a spec­tac­u­lar fire­works dis­play. Gold coin do­na­tion greatly ap­pre­ci­ated.

TRIPLE M MAY­ORAL CAR­OLS BY CAN­DLE­LIGHT

WHEN: Sun­day, De­cem­ber 9, 5.30pm to 8.15pm

WHERE: Frogs Hol­low, Queens Park, cnr Mar­garet and Hume sts, Toowoomba

WHAT: For over a decade now, thou­sands of Toowoomba peo­ple have been at­tend­ing the Car­ols by Can­dle­light event. The free event starts with pre-show en­ter­tain­ment from 5.30pm with car­ols start­ing at 6.30pm. Mar­kets, food and rides open from 4pm, and the en­tire evening will con­clude with fire­works at 8.15pm. For more de­tails, call 4528 2073.

NEIGH­BOUR­HOOD CHRIST­MAS

WHEN: Tues­day, De­cem­ber 25, 10.30am to 3pm WHERE: St Joseph’s Col­lege, 54 James St, Toowoomba WHAT: Pre­sented by Toowoomba Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion, this an­nual event pro­vides a Christ­mas for those who other­wise may not have the op­por­tu­nity to cel­e­brate this spe­cial day. Pre­sented by the Toowoomba Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion, this is the third year Neigh­bour­hood Christ­mas will take place. Guests are via re­fer­ral only.

THE CHRON­I­CLE CHRIST­MAS LIGHTS 2018 COM­PE­TI­TION

WHEN: Satur­day, De­cem­ber 1, to Mon­day, De­cem­ber 24, 6.30pm to 9.30pm daily WHERE: Var­i­ous places through­out the Toowoomba re­gion WHAT: Com­pe­ti­tion en­trants will bring a daz­zling dis­play of Christ­mas spirit to the streets of Toowoomba. Light­ing dis­plays can be viewed be­tween 6.30pm and 9.30pm each evening un­til Christ­mas Eve, weather per­mit­ting. CLAS­SIC ROCK SHOW

WHEN: Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14, 8pm to 10pm WHERE: City Golf Club, 254 South St, Toowoomba WHAT: En­joy the mu­sic of Queen, Bruce Springsteen, The Ea­gles, Bon Jovi, Blondie, Kiss, Amer­ica, Fleet­wood Mac, Toto, Cree­dence Clear­wa­ter and many more. This show will be star Ace Award win­ners for Best Vo­cal Group, Au­dio Vixen, with their live band and vis­ual show. Tick­ets are $30.

AUS­TRALIAN ARMY BAND — RIS­ING SUNS, SOUNDS OF COUNT­DOWN

WHEN: Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 13, 7pm to 10pm WHERE: Ar­mitage Cen­tre, Em­pire The­atre precinct, 54 Neil St, Toowoomba City WHAT: The Ris­ing Suns will per­form a 90-minute show fea­tur­ing mu­sic from the era of the Aus­tralian mu­sic show Count­down. The band is a hard-hit­ting, dy­namic en­sem­ble con­sist­ing of the tra­di­tional rock band line up, along with a front line brass sec­tion and male and fe­male vo­cal­ists. Known through­out Queens­land as one of the finest mil­i­tary bands in Aus­tralia this is a unique show not to be missed.
