Your taste­buds might not go crazy for cel­ery, spinach or pars­ley but your peep­ers do.

A study in the jour­nal JAMA Oph­thal­mol­ogy looked at the di­ets of al­most 100,000 adults and found that those who ate green leafy ve­g­ies reg­u­larly had a 20 to 30 per cent lower risk of glau­coma.

The ni­trates in greens help boost blood­flow to the eye, preserving sight.
