Deal­ing with sex stuff when it comes to par­ents and kids isn’t a bar­rel of laughs. But un­less you want their sex education to come from lit­tle Ed­die in Year 6, or, worse, “Hot­lone­ly­house­wives4u.com”, it’s im­per­a­tive you get there first.

Top tip – start talk­ing about it as early as they bring it up or when­ever the topic arises from ex­ter­nal sources ( such as on TV). Not only to help them learn about safety and per­sonal au­ton­omy, but also be­cause the cring­ing only gets worse as they get older.
