Each year in Fin­land, men hoist women over their shoul­ders and run a 253m track scat­tered with pools of wa­ter. In the World Wife Car­ry­ing Cham­pi­onships, the ladies must be at least 17 years old and weigh 49 ki­los. Win­ners get the women’s weight in beer.
