“If some­one in your fam­ily has heart dis­ease or had a heart at­tack at a young age, your risk is higher than some­one who doesn’t have that fam­ily his­tory,” Lan­g­ley says. “But just be­cause your mother had a heart at­tack doesn’t mean you will. It’s sim­ply some­thing we con­sider when look­ing at your chances of de­vel­op­ing heart dis­ease later in life.”
