FROM THE EDITOR
I grew up in Wales, so it goes without saying that I love rugby. And I’m delighted that women’s rugby sevens has been included in this year’s Commonwealth Games. It’s such a fun, frenetic sport to watch and, to top it off, Australia – reigning Olympic champions, no less – are brilliant! On pages 4-7, we speak to Aussie sevens star Charlotte Caslick about what it means to debut the sport at a home Games, and chat to three other medal hopefuls who have an extra special reason for competing at Gold Coast 2018. I can’t wait to watch them all go for glory. In fact, I can’t wait for the Games to kick off, full stop. It’s a celebration of so many of the things I love about my adopted country: the outdoor lifestyle, the fierce appetite for competition and a willingness to embrace the new (hello, beach volleyball, which is also making its Games debut). Check out page 8 for our armchair guide to the Games to guarantee you don’t miss a thing. Good luck Australia (and Wales)!
