ONLY THE LONE
Riviera Travel has announced two Europe river cruises solely for single travellers, where all cabins are for solo occupancy with no single supplement. One is an eight-day Danube cruise from Budapest departing on November 1, 2018, priced from $3119 per solo-use cabin, and the other is an eight-day Burgundy, River Rhône and Provence cruise on November 6, 2018, priced from $3529 per solouse cabin. Riviera Travel keeps a selection of cabins on every cruise every year for supplement-free solo occupancy but on these two cruises every one of the 88 cabins aboard its Danube river ship, Oscar Wilde, and each of the 74 cabins on the Lord Byron are for solo passengers only.
Riviera Travel spokesman Will Sarson said the two cruises were not matchmaking cruises but journeys where lone travellers or friends who did not want to share a stateroom could enjoy a cabin on their own without paying a supplement. SEE TRAVEL AGENTS, RIVIERATRAVEL.COM.AU
