Acruise-tour tak­ing in Ulaan­baatar is among new itin­er­ar­ies in Uni­world’s prod­uct line-up for 2019, as well as three new op­tions in Cen­tral Europe sail­ing the Danube, Rhine and Moselle rivers over 10 or 15 days.

The River Royale sail­ing the Bordeaux re­gion of France will be fully re­fur­bished for 2019 while the line is launch­ing the new 124pas­sen­ger, in­ti­mate and lux­u­ri­ous Sanc­tu­ary Yangzi Ex­plorer in China which of­fi­cials say will have the largest cab­ins on the Yangtze and a guest-crew ra­tio of 1:1.

The launch of the new ship will see Uni­world add a seven-day op­tional ex­ten­sion to its 11-day High­lights of China & The Yangtze itin­er­ary with a trip to Mon­go­lia – where the leg­endary Genghis Khan once roamed – in­clud­ing vis­its to its cap­i­tal city, Ulaan­baatar, and the Gobi Desert.


Viking has launched two com­bi­na­tion river and ocean voy­ages for 2019, the new 22-day Grand Euro­pean & Viking Fjords and the 15-day Rhine & Viking Shores & Fjords. On the Grand Euro­pean & Viking Fjords, de­part­ing May 26 and June 2, 2019, the river cruise on the Rhine-Maine-Danube sys­tem will com­bine with an ocean cruise call­ing at ports in Scan­di­navia, priced from $12,990 a per­son twin share which in­cludes sav­ings of $2000 a cou­ple and free flights if booked be­fore April 30, 2018.

On the Rhine & Viking Shores & Fjords, from Ber­gen to Basel or vice versa – both de­part­ing June 2, 2019 – guests will tour high­lights of the Rhine River, then dis­cover Nordic won­ders by sea vis­it­ing ports such as Oslo, Kris­tiansand, Sta­vanger and Flam. Prices start from $10,190 a per­son twin share which in­cludes a sav­ing of $1400 a cou­ple, as well as flights for $995 a per­son if booked be­fore April 30, 2018.


Cu­nard’s Queen El­iz­a­beth will be based in Aus­tralia for a record 101 days over the 2019-20 sum­mer, sail­ing on six roundtrip cruises from Mel­bourne and two from Syd­ney with itin­er­ar­ies to South Aus­tralia, Tas­ma­nia, New Zealand and Pa­pua New Guinea. The De­cem­ber 2019 ar­rival of the 2080-guest ship means it will spend Christ­mas in lo­cal wa­ters – trav­ellers will be able to sail from Mel­bourne to New Zealand over the fes­tive break with Christ­mas Day spent cruis­ing the Tas­man Sea, Box­ing Day in Fiord­land Na­tional Park and New Year’s Eve in Auck­land Har­bour.

The pro­gram is sched­uled to go on sale on March 20, 2018.


The 2019-20 pro­gram for Aurora Ex­pe­di­tions’ new ex­pe­di­tion ship, Greg Mor­timer, fea­tures trips to the Antarc­tic Penin­sula, South Geor­gia and Falk­land Is­lands and the Arc­tic in­clud­ing Sval­bard, Franz Josef Land, East Green­land, Jan Mayen, Ice­land and Nor­way.
