JEWEL’S NEW GLEAM
P&O’s Pacific Jewel has a fresh new feel. A 10-day refurbishment in Sydney’s Garden Island dry dock has installed new features and furnishings to public areas, including an outdoor barefoot lawn bowling green introduced on Pacific Explorer last year.
A Shell & Bones restaurant, which is also on sister ships Pacific Explorer and Pacific Dawn, will be serving up seafood, grill and vegetarian dishes; the Connexions Bar now has a summer-inspired pub feel, the central Atrium area has been revamped and new deck lounges are in the child-free Oasis.
Pacific Jewel’s season ahead includes a seven-night Pacific Island Hopper cruise departing Brisbane on October 21, 2018, priced from $689 a person quad share.
Meanwhile Pacific Eden will leave P&O’s fleet after its final voyage in March 2019 (it joined in 2015) as the line prepares to take ownership of the larger 2600-guest Golden Princess in 2020. POCRUISES.COM.AU, PH 13 24 94
