The world’s high­est ca­ble­way has opened in Switzer­land with some ex­tra daz­zling de­sign fea­tures. Four of the 25 gon­do­las on the 3S Mat­ter­horn Glacier Ride at the 3883m Klein Mat­ter­horn have opaque floors that turn see-through 170m above the ground, re­veal­ing the alpine land­scape be­neath. RE­TREAT REOPENS

Closed for six months, Malaysian lux­ury rain­for­est re­sort, The Datai Langkawi, will re-open in De­cem­ber af­ter a $US60 mil­lion ($82.5m), 12-month reno. The pro­ject in­cludes the ad­di­tion of an open-air na­ture cen­tre and spa ex­pan­sion, plus a new five-bed­room, 3500sq m villa, Datai Es­tate, one of the largest of its types in Asia.
