Sunday Herald Sun - Escape - - WISHLIST CRUISING -

has been having a “moment” that’s lasted a good fiveplus years. Now reigning as one of the fastest growing European holiday spots for Brits, and by proxy Aussies when on their European sojourns, this surge of astronomical proportions has seen the country’s most popular city, Dubrovnik, swamped with sightseers.

Reports of unregulated cruises causing chaos and Game of Thrones fans causing bottleneck queues around the filming locations from the hit TV show, abound.

Though Dubrovnik may currently be a victim of its own success, you can still get a fix of Croatia as it was by heading to Hvar.

Hailed as the sunniest port in the country, the small island has seen P&O, Azamara, Cunard, Silversea, Ponant and Peregrine Adventures all drop anchor to allow passengers to take advantage of its beautiful beaches, ancient hamlets and beautiful landscapes.
