One of my favourite things about summer is reading outdoors. This year, I was entranced by Aussie author Vanessa McCausland’s new novel, The Valley of Lost Stories. Four mums go away to a ghost town where, day by day, the shiny veneer of their supposedly perfect lives is chipped away. I couldn’t put it down – it’s the perfect beach read.
