LETTER OF THE WEEK A gourmet holiday at home

My husband’s 80th birthday was approaching and the borders were opening so we considered our options on where to go to celebrate this milestone. Perhaps the Gold Coast? Port Douglas? Melbourne? Sydney? Then I had a lightbulb moment – sometimes you have to travel all around the globe before you can appreciate what’s on your doorstep. We live in the Sunshine Coast, only 15 minutes from beautiful Noosa, so we went out to breakfast, lunch and dinner at our favourite local restaurants (spoilt for choice) for the birthday weekend. It was the best decision and my husband had the best birthday celebration.
