The advice I’d give to young travellers is…
See the world. Do as much travel as you can – there’s so much to learn and experience. Be open to anything and always say yes when travelling – you never know who you’ll meet or what adventure lies ahead.
The souvenir I always buy…
Presents for my nieces and nephew, usually clothes.
The worst thing that’s happened to me while travelling…
Travelling from Alabama to a Fed Cup tie in Europe, delays and every malfunction possible happened. I was 16 years old and by myself so it was a bit overwhelming. Forty-eight hours later I finally made it to London, then Italy. A big positive from my
delays at the airport was I got to see Adam Scott sink his winning putt to win the Masters.
The most interesting person I’ve met on a plane is…
I always love seeing fellow Aussies on the plane whenever I’m coming home from a trip. There was a massive group of golfers coming home from New York when the US Open coincided with the PGA Championship.
My best/weirdest things I’ve eaten while travelling was...
Snails in France. Had to try them once!
My go-to dish for room service is…
Usually quite boring. Nothing beats steak and vegetables.
The best hotel I’ve ever stayed in…
Villa d’Este in Lake Como. Stunning.
The travel tips I’d like to share are…
Be an organised packer, always have a charging cord in your hand luggage, and if you fly as much as I do and have watched all the plane movies, download movies or a good series before you go.
Travel has taught me...
To appreciate home. There are so many wonderful places to see in the world, but we really are lucky to live in Australia.
