A cynic might be tempted to roll their eyes at Sir Paul Mccartney’s explanation that “raising kids” is why it has taken him 24 years to tour Australia. But for all his professional achievements – and given approximately 98 per cent of the general population are estimated to be fans of The Beatles, there’s no need to recap the CV of the most successful songwriter in history here – to his family, fatherhood will be his defining legacy. So it seems appropriate today’s cover photograph was taken by his daughter Mary, with her proud dad telling Stellar the world-exclusive images are further proof of why she is his “favourite photographer”. The unconditional and unwavering love of a parent is also at the heart of our interview with rugby player Dean Mumm and his wife Sarah, as they open up about losing two babies when they set out to start a family. It’s a heartbreaking yet ultimately triumphant tale, and it is impossible not to be moved by their bravery and honesty when reading it. Sarrah
