The sky is the latest frontier for Miami’s cool crowd – who sip cocktails atop EAST, Miami, a luxury hotel in the Brickell district. The 40th-floor rooftop bar has spectacular views of the ocean, which pair with equally spectacular lychee martinis.

Downtown Miami is undergoing a luxury revolution. Brickell City Centre shopping complex is the latest in high-end glamour, and is just a few stops on the city’s free monorail from American Airlines Arena and the Bayside precinct.

No visit to Miami is complete without a stroll along the Art Deco promenade at South Beach. The area has the biggest concentration of ’20s and ’30s architecture in the world, lovingly and colourfully restored to feel like a trip back in time.
