SHORT AND SWEET
You grew up in Townsville. Were you always on the beach? There are too many things that can kill you at the beaches up there. PlusP I’m on the gingerg side – dodgingd the sun wasw a hobby.
And you were more the theatre kid. Did your mum spend her life running up costumes on the Bernina? She tried to be that kind of mother, but her hems were all so uneven that once she stapled them.
Your Love Child character died in season four. How many times do you think you’ve been killed in your career? In a play I did called Machinal, I got the electric chair at the end. That was fun eight times a week.
You also starred in Killing Ground, a proper horror flick. Did you sleep with the lights on during production? Only by accident – the shoot was so exhausting. Your The Other Guy character is partial to drinking. What’s
the key to realistic screen drunkenness? Pretending to be sober. Drunk people do that. Another actor taught me that one, ironically, when we were drunk. Harriet Dyer stars in The Other Guy, now streaming on Stan.
