Grum­bling about the Lo­gies has be­come a time-hon­oured Aus­tralian tra­di­tion – along with stock­ing the fridge with prawns at Christ­mas and stop­ping by the sausage siz­zle on the way to vote on elec­tion day. Adding to the of­ten good-na­tured yet al­ways pre­dictable whin­ing about the an­nual cer­e­mony is that this year, for the first time, the Lo­gie Awards will be held in Queens­land. But as to­day’s cover star, multi Gold and Sil­ver tro­phy win­ner Asher Ked­die, told Stel­lar fea­tures writer Adri­enne Tam of tonight’s loom­ing fes­tiv­i­ties: “A change of en­vi­ron­ment can be a good thing. It’s still Aus­tralia, after all! I’m open-minded and I’m sure it’ll be a fun night as it al­ways is.” And re­ally, apart from the oc­ca­sional long-winded speech and red-car­pet mishap, what’s not to like? All that’s miss­ing is the sausage siz­zle…
