REAL Housewives of

Melbourne alumna Pettifleur Berenger says she was left humiliated by a public and bitter split from her partner.

The reality star has broken her silence on the breakdown of her relationship with Frank Palazzo and a court battle in which he tried to force her from the luxury inner-city penthouse they shared.

Berenger said she was stronger after a year of personal loss and private challenges.

“Not for one minute did I ever feel that I would leave the home at that time,” said Berenger, who still lives in the property. “I was humiliated by the public knowledge (of their split) but I never felt that I was going to be on the street.”

Berenger said she was rocked by the death of her father mid year and the illness of another family member, coupled with the end of her relationship.

“My father, he was just the most beautiful man. I believe from the bottom of my heart that he has been right beside me through the turmoil that I have been going through,” she said.

Berenger will welcome in the new year with trusted friends at the Together NYE party at the Prince Rooftop in St Kilda.

“Those are the people that I treasure and those are the people that have been surrounding me in my time of need — a shoulder to cry on, a conversation to be had — and those are the people I will be ringing in the new year with,” she said.

Berenger said she was in no rush to find love again.

“I have always had somebody by my side. “I just want to see who I am just by myself.”
