Mex­i­can chilli chocolate tart

Chilli and chocolate is the best com­bi­na­tion you never knew you needed, un­til now


1 2/3 cups (250g) plain flour

½ cup (60g) pure ic­ing sugar

½ cup (50g) good-qual­ity co­coa pow­der, plus ex­tra to dust

125g cold un­salted but­ter, chopped

1 egg yolk


400g dark (70 per cent) chocolate, chopped

150g un­salted but­ter, chopped

¼ tsp cayenne pep­per, plus ex­tra to serve 1 tsp ground cin­na­mon

3 eggs

½ cup (110g) caster sugar

2/3 cup (100g) plain flour

Good-qual­ity co­coa pow­der, to serve
