Sunday Mail - Travel/Escape
We woke up in a hotel room to news of a three-day lockdown on the second day of our silver wedding anniversary holiday in Brisbane. After several flustered phone calls, we found our way to a friend’s place to spend lockdown together. The next three days were a veritable lockdown “fitness heaven” – walks in the suburbs and to Westfield for essential shopping and takeaway meals. We each did nearly 20,000 steps daily. Fortunately the lockdown was not extended and we squeezed in a trip to Redcliffe and danced along Bee Gees Way, Mount Tamborine for the waterfalls and glow-worm caves and Surfers Paradise before our flight back home. Thanks for the memories and we will be back, Brisbane.
