Jonathan Ben­jamin $597,000 7 3 An­drew Gold­smith $296,000 4 5 Pro­vide a lon­gi­tu­di­nal crim­i­no­log­i­cal study of ado­les­cent in­ter­net use in the world. The project will study how ado­les­cents use the in­ter­net daily, and par­tic­u­larly how this may en­able or en­cour­age delin­quency on and off-line.

Jane Hag­gis $333,500 4 3 Study re­li­gion as a di­men­sion of in­ter­na­tional af­fairs be­tween 1860 and 1950. It will ex­am­ine the con­tri­bu­tion of faith­based ac­tiv­ity, net­work­ing and thought to global gov­er­nance and peace build­ing in­sti­tu­tion­alised in the United Na­tions, uni­ver­sal hu­man rights and hu­man­i­tar­i­an­ism.

Yipeng Zhou $368,446 1 3 Build an in­tel­li­gent video stream­ing ser­vice by char­ac­ter­is­ing users’ view in­ter­est pat­terns and pre­dict user in­ter­est changes. The out­comes of the project will be of great val­ues for users and our so­ci­ety by in­tel­li­gently fil­ter­ing out val­ue­less, harm­ful, il­le­gal and un­wanted videos in ad­vance. 3

Julie Rat­cliffe $406,665 7 3 De­velop and val­i­date a new pref­er­ence-based qual­ity-of-life in­stru­ment with ap­pli­ca­tions in aged-care. The new in­stru­ment would have im­me­di­ate ap­pli­ca­tions in qual­ity as­sess­ment and eco­nomic eval­u­a­tion, im­prov­ing the qual­ity of life and well­be­ing of older Aus­tralians. Janna Mor­ri­son 3 $987,972 Un­der­stand how the foetal heart can de­velop nor­mally with much less oxy­gen than an adult heart uses. Could lead to non-in­va­sive ap­proaches to de­tect and treat ab­nor­mal foetal heart growth. 3
