BEN War­ren made his name as a foot­baller and coach, with South then as a pre­mier­ship hero with Nor­wood. But in be­tween his winter achieve­ments, he’s qui­etly racked up an im­pos­ing cricket record too. Last week War­ren played his 200th A Grade game for Langhorne Creek. In that time he has amassed 7548 runs with a high­est score of 217, and 585 wick­ets. Simp­son man­aged the feat ei­ther side of Christ­mas.

Playing for Prince Al­fred Old Col­le­gians, Simp­son belted 108 in a B1 game on De­cem­ber 22 then made 105 in a T20 match last week­end.
