What is it: Another mystery to unlock
Here’s another mystery to unlock
This week’s mystery item is from New Town’s Archive Antiques.
The metal contraption is relatively small and could easily fit in the palm of your hand.
The main frame forms a vague key shape with a rounded loop and two straight arms.
A thin line of metal stretches along the middle with a right-angle hook at the end.
Made in England, this specimen may look a bit worse for wear but they are still common in northern India and date all the way back to the late 16th century.
