Strep­to­car­pus is an out­stand­ing house or shel­tered ve­randa plant that flow­ers vir­tu­ally non-stop through sum­mer and au­tumn. The long, trum­pet­shaped flow­ers range from vi­o­let-blue to deep pur­ple. The se­cret of suc­cess is to ap­ply water only when pot­ting soils starts to be­come dry. It is best kept out of di­rect sun­light and thrives close to a south-fac­ing win­dow.
