Last week

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - HOME -

Last week’s What is it? curio left nobody stumped, with an outpouring of answers all hitting the nail on the head.

The first response came through from Judi Brettoner who correctly identified the cocktail swizzle stick. They have been in use since the 18th century to mix drinks and hold garnishes in place. The first of their kind were made from twigs in the West Indies, where the Rum Swizzle cocktail was invented.

Other correct answers came from Helen Walne, Anna-Christina Lees and Sally Bennison, who all either have one at home or knew their parents to have one.
