What Is It? :

Another little puzzler for you to get hooked on

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - News -

This week’s curious contraption was among Gretna retiree Chris Smith’s personal collection. At the top of the device is a ring, which appears to be for being hung from something. The ring is attached to a brass cylinder with eight thin, pointed metal hooks hanging from the bottom edge. The hooks appear to be spring loaded and open out flat at a 90 degree angle to the bottom of the brass cylinder. The hooks also drop down and close up to form a cage-like enclosed area. The entire device is very small and would be no bigger than a couple of adult fingers.
