Regular reader Stewart Edwards best described last week’s mystery item.
He said with many homes having open fires, this device was an effective and efficient use of heat from the fire to cook meat, which would be skewered on the three-pointed prongs.
“The unit was hooked onto the fire dog and any drips went into the tray where the vegies would roast,” Mr Edwards said.
Gail Oakes said the device could be used to roast birds or small game.
Peter Willis and Bill Kyle also both answered correctly.
