Devendra misses InterDom final
TASMANIAN pacer Devendra has missed a berth in the 2017 Inter Dominion final after finishing last in his third-round heat at Gloucester Park in Western Australia on Friday night.
Devendra was well-placed to make the final heading into the final round of heats as he was in seventh place on the rankings with 17 points. In his heat comprising nine runners, all he needed to do to clinch a spot in the final was finish no worse than seventh.
The Todd Rattray-trained and driven gelding drew gate three and the trainer-driver made his intentions clear prerace that he intended to try to lead but Rebecca Bartley, the driver of the pole marker San Carlo, had the same idea.
