FOR the best part of a year or more the Federal Government has been working on getting power prices down for the ordinary consumer. I notice from my recent bill that the Hodgman Government increased electricity prices for most people by about $12 per quarter (their figure), most likely around $20 for pensioners relying on electric heating. The rise was dated from July 1, right in the dead of winter.

Thanks Mr Hodgman, not a very nice Christmas in July present for the oldies, was it?
