A Proper reason to celebrate

- By CRAIG SANT

CHAMPION greyhound Just Proper made it win 34 in the second race at Winnellie Park on Friday night.

Coming through late, Just Proper made up for last week’s disappointment grabbing Junior Sanchez with Kortemall in third.

Trained by Peter and Heather Donnelley, Just Proper was down 0.5kg on last week’s run, won by Kortemall, which in the end proved the difference.

Dilston Nugget showed the benefit of having a run at the track with a strong win in the opener holding off Smiling India with All Jordan in third.

Dilston Nugget is trained by one of our best up-andcoming trainers Jamie Hosking, who turned 18 this year.

All Jordan was a touch unlucky after missing the start badly and did well to place in the end.

In race three, Darwin’s pinup girl Swansea Jacky took out heat one of the Lightning Paws, recording win 16 in easy fashion.

Never troubled, the daughter of Vee Man Vane led throughout to beat Miss Mwamba, with Velox Canis in third.

Swansea Jacky will go into next week’s final a clearcut favourite.

Leading trainer Graeme Ferns made it back-to-back wins on the night when Gold Vane saluted in heat two of the Lightning Paws.

Settling handy, Swansea Jacky’s litter brother came away to beat a gallant Oliver’s Guess, with Saleen in third.

In a rough-house affair in race five, Uno My Size gave backers plenty of anxious moments before saluting for trainer Matt Tennant.

Shuffled back mid race, Uno My Size came late to grab Rocket Fuel who also finished on hard with a weakening Stubborn Blonde in third.

Enigmatic Daddy Kewell stepped up and led throughout to give veteran trainer Frank Scott a winner in race six.

Happy Chyna and Ironbark Hanna rounded out the placings while favourite Jurassic Knocka found plenty of strife and finished well back.

Smart type Son Of Joy gave trainer Hosking a double on the card, beating Black Lissey with Millipop third.
