EMMELINE Rose Bye is doing what new babies do best — eating and not sleeping. ‘‘But she’s totally worth the sleepless nights,’’ said new mum Mitzi. With husband Michael currently deployed in Afghanistan, Mitzi has had a challenging first few months of parenthood. ‘‘He came home just in time for the birth but had to leave five days later,’’ she said. ‘‘I am from Darwin so luckily I have had all of my friends and family around for support.’’ Michael is looking forward to being home before Emmeline’s first Christmas to spend as a family. Emmeline was born on October 17 at 9.40am. She weighed 3.67kg and measured 50cm.
