New pontoon now open

CONSTRUCTION of a new pontoon at Cullen Bay has been completed and the facility is now open for commercial fishermen and other users.

The NT Government said yesterday fuelling facilities will take another few weeks to complete and boats should use alternate arrangements in the meantime.

The new 63m pontoon and gangway was built to replace the ageing 17-year-old structure at Cullen Bay.

Businesses at the marina complained last month that works were disruptive and that they weren’t consulted about the timing.
