OPPOSITION Leader Delia Lawrie issued a statement about giving the Stella Maris site lease to Unions NT and said: ‘‘ If Adam Giles really thought this issue, which at its core is about protection of a heritage site, was serious he would have re- ferred it to the attorney general to investigate 14 months ago.’’ She embarrassingly had to re-issue the statement to say auditor-general. Attorney- General John Elferink would hardly be an unbiased judge on the matter, and has been quoted as saying Unions NT was going to ‘‘make a motza on this deal and the loser would be the NT’’.
