Aussie in final

AUSTRALIAN world No. 1 Neil Robertson survived a comeback from England’s Stuart Bingham yesterday to reach the final of snooker’s UKChampionship.

Robertson, 31, led 8-3 at the Barbican Centre in the northern English city of York, putting him within one frame of victory, only for Bingham to launch a superb fightback and level the match.

However, Robertson emerged victorious from a tense final frame to complete a gripping 9-8 victory.

He will face the winner of the second semi-final between defending champion Mark Selby and Ricky Walden.
