Twaddle’s Junior back on track

- — DOUG BOOTH

GREYHOUND trainer Warren Twaddle showed why he is rated one of Darwin’s best at Winnellie Park on Friday night.

In- form Twaddle, from Girraween, collected his 24th win of the season when Junior Sanchez bounced back to winning form in race five to take out the night’s feature.

After a frustrating run of outs including a host of minor placings, Junior Sanchez beat a gallant Son Of Joy with Just Proper in third spot.

The six-race meeting started with Azura Dreamtime living up to her promise, taking out the opener in fine fashion for trainer Greg Milne.

Coming off a break the daughter of Where’s Pedro held off No More Pizza with Smiling India in third.

In race two, honest performer Millipop gave connections plenty to cheer about when she led from start to finish holding a 3.25 length advantage over Roger’s Guess with Willy Make It third.

Trained by Danny Rutherford, who recently celebrated a birthday in grand style and is recovering from surgery, it was just the tonic to get him back on his feet along with partner Nicki who takes all credit for Millipop’s form.

After two recent runs locally trained Chang stepped up to 537m in race three and led throughout to give nothing else a chance, beating Oliver’s Guess with Ready To Swoop in third.

All credit to trainer Frank Scott who has continued to improve the daughter of Sur- geon during her campaign.

Race four saw veteran trainer Frank Scott at it again when Daddy Kewell continued his recent solid form by winning three of his past six starts beating Satin Moon with Look Fast in third.

It was overall win 15 for the son of Big Daddy Cool who has been one of Scott’s best performed chasers in 2013.

It was a winning treble for Humpty Doo hero Frank Scott in the last when outsider Dorkus Malorkus sent punters heading to the bar defeating Ellen’s Boy with Little Down King in third spot.

It was a well deserved night for Scott who goes about his business with a minimum of fuss week in week out at Winnellie Park.
