Cornelius turns up heat against Buffs

- By JESS WEBSTER

NIGHTCLIFF recruit Aaron Cornelius will travel from one end of the country to the other to spearhead the Tigers’ attack against the Buffaloes at Northline Oval today.

After 25 matches for AFL club Brisbane Lions, Cornelius, 23, has returned to his for Nightcliff’s NTFL premiership campaign after being lured north by former Lion Jason Roe.

‘‘I’ve told the club that I’ve obviously got commitments down here but I’m happy to play as many games as they are willing to get me up there for,’’ he said.

‘‘As far as the club goes, they’ve been fantastic so far and really looked after me. It’s a great place to play footy and I’ll definitely be giving it my all and representing the Tigers the best I can.

‘‘It’s all a new experience and something I’m very much looking forward to.’’

Cornelius had previously been exposed to Territory footy playing against NT Thunder in the NEAFL and said he was expecting today’s match to be fast and hot.

‘‘I’ve watched the comp a little bit and I know a few of the NT Thunder guys that play in the league,’’ he said,

‘‘I think it will be a very skilful, fast- paced game. Lucky for me I haven’t acclimatised to Hobart yet but it certainly will be a bit hotter than I’m used to.’’
