LITTLE Jessica hasmany things to thank her big sister, Ava, 3, for — including her name. It was just a few days before Jessica was born that her mum, Lianne Hawke, said to Ava that they were going to name her new sister Emma. ‘‘She just went about her business and said ‘umm, no, we’re going to call her Jess’, and that was that,’’ she said. Lianne and partner Kodi Adcock were still a bit uncertain at the time Jessica was born, but a unanimous decision by the hospital staff backed up Ava’s suggestion and they settled on Jessica. Jessica was born on November 5 at 1.38pm. She weighed 3.04kg and measured 48cm.
