RUBY is not even a month old and is already showing some family traits. ‘‘She’s just like my sister was as a baby — she sleeps all the time,’’ said mum Melanie about her younger sister Sam. ‘‘Sam’s 21 now and can’t sit still. I’d love it if Ruby grew up to be like her.’’ Luckily, her son William, 2, has taken to Ruby. ‘‘He’s been fantastic. He loves giving her lots of kissing and cuddles even though he didn’t realise how much she would rock his little world.’’ Melanie and husband Thomas are preparing for a big family Christmas with Ruby, William and their other children Tinoi, Shayla and Tiah. Ruby was born on November 14 at 12.15pm. She weighed 3.55kg and measured 51cm.
