Skydiver dies in accident

A SKYDIVER has died in a tragic parachuting accident in Victoria’s north.

The 33-year old American man plummeted to the ground in Drysdale Rd, Euroa, about 12.30pm.

It is understood that horrified onlookers witnessed the tragedy.

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man, who was in cardiac arrest and was not breathing, but he died at the scene.

Early reports indicate the man’s parachute may have malfunctioned.

Police said the man was a US citizen and they are in the process of notifying his family. Police will prepare a report for the coroner. The Australian Skydiving Association has been notified.
