2-8 (8pts) The Buffaloes are another side who have been restricted by the new player points system and haven’t managed to find a consistent side on the park each week. Fly-ins Nicholas Mende, Mark Collison and Luke Clark (20 goals) have been valuable contributors so far while Phillip Wills has been terrific in the midfield, featuring in their best players in eight of his ten matches. Their two wins have come against Palmerston in the opening round and Southern Districts by 59 points in Round 8, but the club’s ‘‘generation next’’ have shown plenty more good patches of football throughout the first half of the season to point towards a bright future.
