ABORTION ALLOWED

THE supreme court in Argentina has ruled a 14-year-old rape victim may have an abortion, overturning a judge’s earlier decision barring the procedure. A family court judge ordered the girl to give birth and surrender the baby for adoption. That lower court decision had provoked outrage by women’s groups.
